About Me

From Columbus to Nashville, Chicago to New York, to Wisconsin, West Virginia, Georgia... presenting a unique, crisp style to the traditional Irish-American music scene, we four members of Knot Fibb’n have covered a lot of ground, performing, recording and entertaining thousands of fans in the years since we first joined forces around Tim’s dining room table in 1997.
Our schedule is a busy one: Knot Fibb’n has played the Bethlehem Celtic Classic, Dublin Irish Festival & Dublin Blarney Bash, Manheim PA’s Celtic Fling, Chicago Gaelic Park Irish Festival, Columbus Arts Festival, Brooklyn Great Irish Fair, Rochester Irish Festival, Ohio State Fair, Old Tyme Folk Music and Celtic Music Festivals in Waynesville OH, Dayton Celtic Festival, Dayton Feis 2000, Highland Folk Festival in Delaware OH, Middfest in Middletown OH, Multicultural Festival in Parkersburg WV, Saint Patrick’s Day events in Savannah GA & Tulsa OK, as well as various other festivals and concert series in Ohio, West Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin. The band has completed two four-night runs at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, and has also played many of the Irish-themed pubs and clubs in the Central Ohio, Cincinnati and Dayton areas. Knot Fibb’n has opened for the Nashville band Ceili Rain, Irish musician Larry Kirwan and his Bronx, NY-based band Black 47, Irish rockers The Prodigals, Celtic accordionist John Whelan, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia fiddler Natalie MacMaster, Chicago fiddler Liz Carroll, and Irish guitarist John Doyle.
Knot Fibb’n has recently released our fifth recording in celebration of ten years together, "Ten Years: Live at Byrne’s Pub!"
Our last studio recording was "Turning," released on August 5, 2006. Here’s what The Columbus Dispatch’s music critic Aaron Beck says:
"The stellar Columbus Celtic band Renilda Marshall, Karl Wohlwend, R. Beth Hicks and Tim ONeill will celebrate the release of its stellar new album, Turning. Built on penny whistle, flute, piccolo, guitar, mandolin, accordion and bodhran, the album is filled with deftly performed instrumentals and tracks with strong vocals, including a gorgeous, meditative reworking of Pink Floyd’s "On the Turning Away."
"Ten Years: Live at Byrne’s Pub" is available, along with our earlier CDs, at gigs and through the band’s website: www.knotfibbn.com. Knot Fibb’n CDs are also available at www.cdbaby.com, and in mp3 format at www.itunes.com.
