Nato a Mantova il 23 Dicembre 1974, ha iniziato lo studio del sassofono sotto la guida del Prof. Angelo Gabrielli diplomandosi brillantemente nel 1996 presso L’Istituto Musicale pareggiato “Antonio Tonelli†di Carpi (Mo). In ambito “classico†numerosa è stata l’attività concertistica che l’ha visto protagonista insieme al gruppo New Art Of Sax, di cui V.D. era il soprano sassofonista. Da citare la presenza in importanti rassegne musicali come al teatro “Ventidio Basso†di Ascoli Piceno, in occasione delle manifestazioni per il centocinquantenario, “Palazzo Cittanova†a Cremona, i “Cortili†di Modena, “Autunno Piacentinoâ€, i “Chiostri†di Reggio Emilia, “Pavorotti International†, riscontrando sempre un ottimo successo di pubblico e critica. Nel 1996, nell’ambito della collaborazione con la “NEW School of the Artsâ€, il gruppo ha tenuto una serie di concerti a Miami in Florida presso l’Ambasciata Italiana, al Lincoln Theatre, e alla Bryckel Presbyterian Church. Terminata questa esperienza, V.D. si affaccia sul repertorio Jazzistico ed inizia una serie di Stage con importanti Jazzisti Italiani come Gianni Cazzola, Nico Menci, Lorenzo Conte, Mauro Slaviero, Sandro Comini, Giuseppe Calì, Mauro Negri approfondendo l’arte dell’improvvisazione musicale. Dal 1999 si inserisce in veste di Tenor sassofonista con il gruppo musicale “Le Cotiche†genere funky con il quale svolge ben più di 184 concerti collaborando all’uscita di 2 cd sempre per il medesimo gruppo: “Cotiche Comunità Funky “ del 1999 e “Dal Vangelo secondo James Brown†live del 2001. Parallelamente svolge con i “Pink Pelle†diversi concerti suonando un repertorio principalmente AcidJazz . Da un paio d’anni V.D. è componente stabile sia del gruppo “StingLabâ€, progetto dedicato interamente al mitico “Gordon†in arte Sting, che del gruppo “Artogether†trio nel quale si spazia da pezzi di musica pop a veri e propri standard rivisitati con la forza del hammond colonna portante di questa formazione.Information on Davide Vicari.Born in Mantova on December 23 1974, Davide Vicari began to study saxophone with Professor Angelo Gabrielli, and he brilliantly graduated in 1996 at the Music School “Antonio Tonelli†in Carpi (MO). With the “New Art of the Sax†group, Davide played in several concerts as soprano saxophone. He performed in a number of great musical festivals such as the “Ventidio Basso†in Ascoli Piceno for the fiftieth-centenary celebrations, “Palazzo Cittanova†in Cremona, the “Cortili†in Modena, “Autunno Piacentinoâ€, “Chiostri†in Reggio Emilia, and “Pavorotti International†, always with great public and critics favour. In 1996 in collaboration with the “NEW School of the Artsâ€, the group performed several concerts at the Italian Embassy in Miami, Florida, at the Lincoln Theatre and at the Bryckel Presbyterian Church. After this classical music experience Davide began to get into the Jazz music, attending several Jazz Stages with important Italian Jazz players as Gianni Cazzola, Nico Menci, Lorenzo Conte, Mauro Slaviero, Sandro Comini, Giuseppe Calì, and Mauro Negri deepening the art of musical improvisation. Since 1999 he performed as Tenor Saxophone with the group “Le Cotiche†playing funky music in more than 184 concerts. With the same group he collaborated for the coming out of two cds: “Cotiche Comunità Funky “ in 1999, and “Dal Vangelo secondo James Brown†live 2001. In the meantime he performed several Acid Jazz concerts with the group “Pink Pelleâ€. In the last two years Davide has been a member of the “StingLab†who is working on a project entirely dedicated to mythical “Gordonâ€, that most of us know as “Stingâ€. He also collaborates with the group “Artogetherâ€, that is a trio who plays a number of different music styles, from pop music to standards revisited with the strength of the Hammond, that is the pillar of the group.
