This project was born in Gent, Belgium early 2006 - tributary to Jan's earlier works ( homerecording with Absent Music and The Misz ) but made in different times, with new tools and new spirits calling. June11 could have been influenced by the works of Brian Eno, Harold Budd, David Sylvian, Gustav Mahler, Joni Mitchell, Buddha chants, Marthe Wéry, Donald Judd, Ken Loach, Wim Wenders, the early Mondriaan and most of all: the countless, nameless but brightly colored people of this world , their strive for peace, their sense of beauty. Most of the music was made with existing or imaginary films, theatre, dance pieces, novels, poems, paintings, performances or pictures in mind, believing in the old utopian Bauhaus idea that “ we can only build the future by combining several arts in ideal unity “ The first series of images, presented on the pics page are all taken from the Vellano Arte show, a paper-fashion show by Gonda De Braeckeleer.
