Dieter Steinmann began by teaching himself drumming from the age of 9. He went on to study Classical Percussion, Timpani, Marimba with Peter Wirweitzki, John Dvorachek, and Drumset with Fritz Matzka, Gary Chaffee, Alan Dawson, Jean-Francois Juskowiak.
Dieter Steinmann has performed/recorded with Klaus Lage Band (as Band member 1990-2000), Wolf Maahn, T.M. Stevens, Six Was Nine, Pe Werner, Jam & Spoon, Roko, JoJo, Al Pitrelli, Behringer Allstars, Michael Landau, Stevie Salas, Tower Of Power Horn Section, Louisiana Red, Tommy Engel, Irene Grandi, John Burgess Quartet, Peter Weniger, Tony Lakatos, Joo Kraus, HR Bigband, Frankfurt Pops Orchestra, DoRo (Dolezal/Rossacher), collaborated with Producers Harald Kloser, Bob Marlette, Jam El Mar, Stuart Epps, Rolf Hanekamp, Marcello Schnyder, Armand Volker, Albert Boekholt, Gaggy Mrozeck, among others. As Classical Percussionist, Dieter has performed w/ HR Symphony- & Frankfurt Opera Orchestra under the baton of Conductors Ingo Metzmacher, Michael Gielen, Eliahu Inbal, Yuri Ahronovich, Bernhard Kontarsky, Hans Zender, Christobal Halffter, Eduardo Mata a.o. Besides his playing activities, Dieter is active as Instructor/Educator for DrumSet & Classical Percussion.
