About Me

INDEPENDENT FILM SHOOTING SPRING/SUMMER 2007 IN BUFFALO,NY COPYRIGHT 2007 BNP LLC
Emil Novak:
When Emil was little, he received a box of The Planet Of The Apes gum cards and his first comic book from his father. It was a Gold Key title, The Rat Patrol, which was based on the popular TV show. That ís how it all began; life in the world of popular culture. By August of 1969, Emil's father opened the doors to Queen City Bookstore (the original name was: Queen City Coin And Bookstore). Emil now owns the shop, which is a fixture of the Buffalo, New York media scene. Emil is a talented and well recognized artist, director and set designer. Additionally, Emil has formed Buffalo Nickel Productions, whose bio-pic Tesla the Accumulator is in post production.
Michael Bohatch:
Mike took his passion for horror movies and the love for creating bizarre images into the realm of illustration. While working many years in the digital field in all aspects of print, design, the web and multimedia it wasn't until implementing his studies of traditional fine arts, that he began to bring true realization to his ideas and visions. By combining the physical side of fine arts with the electronic realm of computer graphics he began a process of image-making he refers to as "digital organics". Currently Mike specializes in horror and dark, surreal, metaphysical illustration combining a mixture of drawing, painting, collage, photography, and electronic compositing. Professional work includes numerous CD art compositions, magazine illustrations and covers, comic covers, motion graphics and video covers.
Both Emil and Mike have collaborated on the horror films "Prison of the Psychotic Damned" (2005) and "FrightWorld" (2006)
BANSHEE - THE MOVIE - Official Press release
Press Release:
"Banshee - The Movie", films May 2007 " PRESS RELEASE
Buffalo NY, (PRWEB) February 20, 2007 "Buffalo Nickel Productions LLC (Emil J. Novak) and Nightmare Kinetics (Mike Bohatch) have aligned to produce a feature horror film. The companies are located in Buffalo, New York, and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The film, titled "Banshee" is being shot at the Buffalo Central Terminal, a miraculous gothic structure, built using Art Deco designs. With a 5-story arched ceiling and an octagonal 17-floor tower, it is ideal for this production, which is employing German expressionism into this film.
Novak says: "I have been involved with this great structure in the past, and one of the things that I have always noticed is that nobody has taken advantage of what the structure has to offer. I told Mike Bohatch that we seriously needed to exploit it's beauty to the maximum. And that is exactly what we plan on doing."
Novak continues: "With so many levels of darkened hallways and spooky stairwells, we really look forward shooting at the Terminal. And to show the beauty it once possessed during its heyday of the 1940s.";
Buffalo Nickel Productions LLC specializes in feature horror movies for the Domestic, Foreign and far Eastern home entertainment markets. Their first film, "Tesla The Accumulator" was shot on location in the Buffalo and the Niagara Frontier of New York State. With their partner, Nightmare Kinetics, who specializes in movie title design, motion graphics and digital effects; the movie will be a tour de force in today's market.
Mike Bohatch has been named Co-director & Director of Special FX
Banshee Special Effects team - 'Gray Effects’ is back again! The very creative team of David Gray and Shawn Flahive are excited about working on this new production. These two are simply top notch with their approach toward special effects in today's horror field. With an established background in Halloween show designing and FX, concert rigging, and theatrical experience; their 'in-camera' effects work tremendously well with digital post production special effects."
This film is scheduled for a Fall 2007 DVD release
