Was born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brasil in 1957, started his studies on piano when he was five, and became a professional musician at the age of fourteen, playing in balls in his home town. He went to the Federal Univesity of Minas Gerais to study Composition and Regency but abandoned the course, prefering to dedicate himself entirely to the pop music, more specifically to the electronic one, a kind to which he has become an addicted since the 70’s , when the first synthesizers appeared.
He moved to Rio in 1979 and since then, has been working as keyboardist and arranger for great names of Brazilian pop music such as: Gal Costa, Milton Nascimento, Alceu Valença, Ney Matogrosso, Sérgio Dias, Marina Lima, Sandra de Sá, Cássia Eller, Zélia Duncan etc. He also composes music for soundtracks of theatre and movie plays and works as a musical producer for Globo TV Network.
