Martin Joseph is a self taught artist, he is 39 years of age, born and bred in the city of Liverpool. Martin comes from a large musical family and persued a career in the more energetic of the two arts, enjoying nation sucsess with cult liverpool band The Hoovers. The 80's and 90's were spent recording, touring and generally doing that 'musical thang!',..until like most things in life it got boring! As a consequence, Martin returned to his first and probably most natural of skills, art. Martin has little knowledge of who is who! or why? in the artworld, he likes what he likes when he sees it, but tries no to let it influence the work he produces. Once called a naive artist, meant as an insult, he has prided himself on being just that! Martin has worked in the public art sector for several years, nationally creating a variety of constructions, statues, banners, murials, mosaics, slate, stained glass and barges, ect... He has taught art workshops in schools and prisons and designed various projects including album and book covers, book illustrations, tarot cards, t-shirts and tattoo's to name but a few.
