About Me

The California Historical Society is the only state-wide organization solely dedicated to exploring, understanding and sharing the varieties of human experience that continue to shape the State of California and its relationship with the nation and the world. Through exhibits, publications, collections and a variety of programs, CHS leads, stimulates, facilitates and supports the ongoing conversation between the past and present in order to make the historical exerience a meaningful part of our daily lives.

My Interests

CHS is located at 678 Mission Street in the SOMA district of San Francisco. The CHS gallery and bookstore is open to the public Wednesday through Saturday, noon to 4:30 p.m. and the North Baker Research Library is open Wednesday through Friday, noon to 5:00 p.m.For more information, please visit www.californiahistoricalsociety.org or call 415.357.1848.
