About Me

I got my background from Backgrounds Archive!
My music is a reflection of the experiences, and people that have changed my life. I've spent 4 years journeying to far off lands seeking solace, and song. What I discovered and what inspired me is reflected in my music. I've never taken lessons so my style of singing and playing comes from deep within my consciousness, and the rawness lends itself to the uniqueness I aspire for. Inspiration lingers in the place you would least expect to find it. Through music I rediscover pieces of myself, which I share through the poetry. "Lessons from a Butterfly" surround us when the weather lends itself to paint the picture of life being lived before us in it's brightest and most colorful form. My totem animal is the butterfly which symbolizes transformation. Within transformation are the lessons we must struggle to learn. I share my lessons through song. Thank you to the beauty of the Butterfly, always chasing beauty.

Band Members: Members: Just Me........However on my CD, I was fortunate to share my music with some great musicians......The percussion played on some of the songs is played by Sukdev Mishra ( an amazing Multi Instrumentalist I met in Varanassi India) he is playing the Tabla, Violin, and some lovely vocals....Ryan Power also recorded some of my songs on Vancouver Island and played Djembe in the Studio in India and Vancouver Island

Influences: Some of the Folks that inspire me to sing and play are; Ryan Power, Amos Lee, Ani Difranco, Ben Harper, Ember Swift, Joni Mitchell, John Butler Trio, Leslie Helpert, Michelle Shocked, Micheal Franti, Neil Young, Rokia Traore, Susheela Raman, The Be Good Tanyas, Xavier Rudd...What inspires me to compose and share my songs are,beautiful people, moments of silence, nature, love, compassion, beaches at sunset, watching the tide at sunrise, ramdom acts of kindness, journeys to far off lands, wise words from wise folk, and of course Hope....http://img400.imageshack.us/my.php?image=treeoflifey k0.png
