This year, psychedelic reggae punks Rogerthat or the “Vanilla Gorillas” as they’re known has been a ticket to ride to say the least. Soon after driving through the desert haze of the dreaded Nullabour for a west and east coast ‘loco van tour’, the band have just completed their fourth tour in a space of 8 months. It’s this ‘living on the road’ attitude that keeps adding new dimensions to Rogerthat’s already solid underground foundation.
Their two releases, “Chasing the Sun” and “the Vanilla Gorillas” (both through MGM) have respectively picked up airplay and recently featured on Triple J’s “Home and hosed” program and community stations (FBI in Sydney and RRR and PBS in Melbourne), around the country.
The Rogerthat live set is stacking up a plethora of hot reviews- Rave magazine states “…What a tight and dynamic group of musicians they are as a live unit, their clever licks and pin-point rhythm section are impressive and the large audience gathered at the front seem captivated”.
Recently toured and gigged with: The Herd, the Beautiful Girls, Bob Evans, True Live, Spiderbait, Butterfingers, The Black Seeds, Ash Grunwald the Custom kings.
Festivals this year have included: Wonderland Festival - High Voltage festival - The Quiksilver pro show festival (gold coast).

Touring:
The boys have just finished a month long tour, covering most of the east coast in their transit van, and had a stack of great gigs and good times to say the least... They did 3 shows to packed houses with the Beautiful Girls, 2 in Melbourne with dDub (nz) and 3 shows through the Snowy Mountains and Sydney with Ash Grunwald.
The band also did a bunch of their own shows and played an elecrtifying gig to a sold out home crowd at the shark bar on saturday night. This years Wonderland festival to be held in Currumbin Valley on November 25th will be the start to the next tour, another month long journey along the east coast... Thanks to everyone who came along to gigs, the boys are jumpin out of their boots to get back on the road and be flouro touros in your town again!! big cheers for spreading the word......

The new EP "vanilla gorllas" is available now at all good stores thru MGM/CRUISERWEIGHT and has 6 tracks that mix up different elements and b-sides the band have wanted to record for yonks. There is loads of new material they're jamming at the mooment and there is talk of recording the whole full length in the bands jam space over the next couple of months.. it will have a total raw and energetic edge that captures the essence of a live show.
