State of Mind is a new scripted, original drama series about the lives of a diverse group of therapists who share office space in New Haven, Connecticut.
This comedic drama stars Lili Taylor as Dr. Ann Bellows, a brilliant, take-charge therapist whose life is turned upside down when she discovers her husband is having an affair with their marriage counselor. Ann’s personal problems soon begin to rival those of her patients. Through Ann’s eyes we are given as intimate view as she attempts to put her life back together. Ann’s fellow psychiatrists include Dr. James Le Croix, Dr. Taj Kalid and Dr. Cordelia Banks. Rounding out the office inhabitants are sarcastic and socially awkward Fred Smedersman, the office manager and Marta Rodriguez, a young social worker who runs a program for at risk teens. Filling the office vacated by Ann’s cheating husband is Barry White, a sweet, earnest young lawyer who recently relocated to Connecticut from Minnesota.
In State of Mind viewers are given an inside look unto not only a psychiatrist’s practice but also into her life and the lives’ of her friends and colleagues. These characters and their setting are real and views will relate to this eclectic group of professionals and be drawn into their lives, their loves, their laughter, their loss and at times…their therapy.
