The New Anthem Band

"Steam Powered Stern" CD Released March 6, 2007

About Me

Steve Stern started The New Anthem Band in 1986 with the focus on original material blended with popular country, bluegrass, and folk songs. Basically a string band, the players, over the years, have brought banjo, fiddle, bass, mandolin, and dobro to the stage with Stern playing guitar and singing most of the songs. In the spirit of The Band and the mountain music makers of Stern's home state, West Virginia, and Appalachia, the vocals are shared as much as possible and the harmonies and fun delivery bring a sing-along feeling to all performances.Working with a great ensemble of Nashville players, Stern presents a tight weave of melody and story-telling favorites. Songs from the newly released "Steam Powered Stern" CD are interspersed throughout the sets and help set the mood for the listeners. The main message is love and the songs express the delights of loving and living life to the fullest. Two of Steve's songs from "Steam Powered Stern" have been picked for upcoming "Prime Cuts of Bluegrass" CD promotions. "Country Morning" will be on the May 15th release to 1000+ bluegrass radio stations. The July 15th edition will feature "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow".Steve and The New Anthem Band will be working to bring their music to fairs, festivals, private parties, and outdoor venues starting in the summer of 2007.Check out www.stevesternmusic.com for more info and news.
