About Me
Born in small town Tennessee, the fifth of nine children, we were poor and didn't know it. We listened to the "Grand Ole Opry" on Friday and Saturday night. We didn't have a TV set until the early to mid sixties. I loved Ernest Tub, Patsy Cline, Del Reeves, Hawshaw Hawkins, Little Jimmie Dickens (Tater) and Minnie Pearl. Then the Beatles were on Ed Sullivan...that's when I began to rock. Loved the early hippie movement, back when you could trust a "brother" and did my part to experience as much of it as I could. I played bass in rock bands through the seventies and early eighties as I picked up some really bad habits on the road. In 1982 I got straight. The Good Lord smiled down on me. Clean and sober is a much better way of life. He gave me a beautiful wife, three kids, a civil engineering degree, a good job, a home, a studio, a few good guitars and a dog.Songwriting has always been a great love of mine and I take her out as regularly as possible and spend as much time as I can in my studio with my songwriting friends, guitars and board. Thanks to all my buddies and co-writers for their love and support: Gary and Arlene Payne, Marla Corlew, Collene Goodard, Bill Littleton, Ken Johnson, Ricky Vaughn, Stacey Currens, Darlene Smith, Wes Boker, Richie Dotson , Lucky Blackwell, Billie Joe Gerver, Deb Ziems, Barry Durham, AJ Durham, Jesse Clardy, Spencer Davidson, JP Clardy, Cheeto, etc. etc. And a special thanks to Don Rollins for taking time to help me hone my skills. I also am a member of ASCAP and own Cobb Creek Publishing.I hope each of you enjoy my material and if you wanna do some pickin' and writin', stop by the "Dawg House" and see me. GOD BLESS!!!
