First off let me say what ever song is playing on my profile at anyime is not the way I'm necessarily feeling at that time!! LOL, That said, LOL I'm A 49 yr old RN who has 3 grown children. As of 9/9/2007 I am now semi- retired from nursing due to illness, who knows , I may get to return one day!!YESSS!! Seems the myelin sheaths are building back around the muscles from some weird infection I had when I lved in Alabama that the drs never did figure out there nor in TN until I got back to Ky!!!!! I have NES and Guillen-Barre Syndrome and right now trying to rule out cancer. I have mixed feelings about this siuation because I spent so much time caring for others!! I worked at Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital in Hazard, Ky as a psychiatric nurse full time and part time at Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, Ky. Then I was offered a full-time position at Kentucky River Medical Center. I worked there 9 years. My oldestdaughter Lisa Gross is a teacher at LBJ Elementary in Jackson, Ky. My other daughter, Lindsay Taulbee, is the Social Services Director at the Nim Henson Geriatric Center in Jackson, Ky. My son works for the State Highway Dept. of Transportation in Beattyville, Ky but resides at Vancleve,Ky.
I have 4 beautiful grandaughters, Ashlianne, Taylor Nicole,Mckenzie Grace and Kaylee Morgan.
I am married to the love of my life: a 6:3 tall Texan who is the love of my life and my soulmate!!
I left Ky 7 1/2 years ago and lived 5 years in Corpus Christi, Tx and worked as a travel nurse at Alice, Tx, which was a 50 mile commute each way every day, but when you are getting paid 44.25/hr as charge nurse, it's hard to turn down. I worked medical, surgical, pediatrics, and ICU stepdown at Alice Regional Hospital. I stayed there 9 months as a travel nurse. Then I worked in every hospital in Corpus Christi except one as an agency RN for 5 years.I also worked at Padre Behavioral Psychiatric Hospital on adult, adolescent, child, and child long term care as charge nurse as well. I worked there until we moved to Montgomery, Al.
Moved to Montgomery, Al and lived there for almost a year. 3 days into a new job at a rehabilitation center I became ill myself. Everything on my body was going numb, feet, hands, legs and the tip of my tongue and I would fall for no apparent reason. So I spent the whole time I was there being shuffled around from dr to dr trying to figure out what ws going on.I also had short term memory loss so the drs did not want me working nor did I want to put my patients in danger.
Then we moved to Chattanooga, TN. The docs there found many things wrong with me, but could not pinpoint it to one definitive diagnosis.
Now I have moved to Winchester, Ky and have been here one week today and it's a whole new search for drs again!!! I am so tired of not knowing what is wrong as well as not being able to work. But I am closer to my family, yhry are only 60 miles away and I'm 16 miles from Lexington, Ky which has some fine drs.
Just moved To Winchester 7 months ago, but am pretty familiar about the town since I originally was raised in Breathitt Co.We moved here to Winchester because hubby transferred to Bluegrass Station to work on contracts for Special Operations for the military.
I'm a songwriter as well, a total music freak of many genres of music!!

Another badass quiz from eSPIN-the-Bottle...
The eSPIN Personality Test
MY RESULT: Cucumber
You know - as in "cool as a cucumber." Because there's no cooler vegetable than you.
You've got a great attitude going on - friendly, laid-back, open to new experiences. Anyone should want to hang out with you, and if they don't - well, that's their problem, not yours. Just let it roll off your back. We're pretty sure you do that anyway.
Don't be afraid to show a little attitude every once in a while - it's cool being cool, but it's also pretty nice to get your way and influence the people around you. A little bit. We wouldn't want you to lose your cucumber-ness.
