Her distinctive voice and phrases do not only go through bones and marrow, but also go deep into the foundation of the heart" (a concert review made by Boris Rabinowitsch in the newspaper Politiken).Vanja Santos music has a background in the Brazilian roots, but is deeply forced and heavily mixed with American European jazz/rock, funk and pop.Vanja Santos is born in the Laranjeiras district of Rio de Janeiro, grew up in Brazil's modern capital Brasilia and is today residing in Denmark. She comes from an artistic family, where her mother Vânia dos Santos was a singer in Heitor dos Prazeres' Brazilian focloric show orquester. He father Milton Cruz is a saxplayer and her brother Milton Brasília was a singer and a part of the Brazilian Popular Music movement.She has participated in different CDs and launched her own "I say Time".
