Maybe some of you guys heard it already, but we decided to make it official. Because we had too many musical differences we decided to split up. Our last gig will be Friday the 27th of Apri l- 2007 at the Backstage, Nijmegen. We will be performing together with our friends from “The Embodimentâ€. We want to thank you all for the continued support these last years.
Offcourse we won't sit still, and everyone is following their own road.
If you are interested in one of these new bands, you might want to take a look at 12 Gauge , Rolf's new project.
Cutting Daisy's music has been described in many different ways the past years, It clearly indicates that we achieved in creating a sound that cannot be labeled so easily. Core elements are the black- and trashmetal guitarriffs, deathgrunts, and spheric synths/keyboards. Rhytmically however the songs can vary quite a lot, which gives them all a face of their own. Expect folky passages and grooving metalriffs to go hand in hand in one song, and pure trashmetalmayhem with symphonic melodylines in another.
A brief history: Cutting Daisy was founded summer 2003 by Martin , Leoniek, Sander and vocalist Jaap-Jan.While looking for a proper drummer, a 7-track demo was made that same summer but has never been released. End of 2003 Rolf joined the band. April 30th 2004 saw us playing live for the first time. After a second gig we produced a 4-track demo which was finished october 2004 and has been used for promotional efforts. WE played quite a few gigs between october 2004 and may 2005. After that we had to deal with the fact that Jaap could not longer combine work and the band. At the end of September we decided to get a replacement, a few weeks later Thijs joined the band and from november to this day we are gigging again on a regular basis .From this point on things are taken a step further. Merchandise is the form of t-shirts has been introduced, a song has been specially recorded for compilations and June 9th was a special day for us when we released our mini-CD!.
