About Me
Anibal stop playing in Escadron
This is it, I decided to stop playing in Escadron, after more than 2 years of trashing
& lot of gigs I do not enjoy doing this anymore. As some of you know I
travel from Utrecht where I live to Fryslan every week, sometimes more
than once if we need to gig in the North of Holland, this is very time
consuming. I will become a father in march & I want to dedicate more
time to my child & girlfriend & be more around home. This doesn’t mean that i
will stop playing though. I will actually be doing more of what I really like with music.
I will be working on a Black/Death metal project with a good friend of mine these
coming months where I will be producing & recording as well as writing
the music. Also I will be working on some other projects that I started.
Thanks to all for coming to the gigs where I played, thanks for the
reactions & for so much fun.
Anibal

The story of Escadron started in the summer of 2003, when drummer Adriaan and guitarplayer Wouter started another project together again. After a few months, singer Jasper and bassplayer Ype were added to the project, which quickly grew into a real band.
After not too long, the band decided to give up the original idea of playing metalcore. From that point, every nice riff was used, no matter if it was thrash, death or hardcore. After six months, the band chose to label themselves Escadron. Not long after that, Anibal hooked up with the band to be the second guitarist.
At this point, the sound of Escadron is mainly based on fast an technical thrash metal. Besides that, you can expect death metal riffs, blastbeats and brutal moshparts. Just the right amount of melodies completes the sound. The first Escadron-demo was released in 2005. The metal press reacted quite good on this release, which was followed by quite a few shows.
The band has already shared bills and stages with bands like Hatesphere (DK), Madball (US), Koroded (D), Fallen Into Ashes (H), Liar (BE), Sworn Enemy (US), No Turning Back, Agrésion and 37 StabwoundZ. In January 2006, Escadron won the InHolland Popprijs at the legendary venue Melkweg, Amsterdam. This victory was followed by interviews en articles in different newspapers. Escadron is currently still very busy completing their first full length, this process is expected to be continued for some months. The other goal is to play as much shows as possible! The band will appear at Noordschok 2006 and Metal Battle 2006, as well as MUCH more.
