Well, I must admit I LOVE a good sit at my Queen's throne. So much so, in fact, that I let my husband do most of the talking and ruling so as not to break my concentration on sitting there.
HERE'S THE EPISODE WHERE I EXPLAIN HOW I CAME TO ETERNIA, TITLED "TEELA'S QUEST": PART 2 OF THE SAME EPISODE: AND, PART 3 OF TEELA'S QUEST (THIS EPISODE ALSO EXPLAINS THE SECRET IDENTITY OF TEELA'S MOTHER)As Queen of Eternia, I have met and know virtually everyone worth knowing, from a fashionable standpoint. However, if I had the chance to meet someone I knew in my former life it would have to be the man I loved on earth. Shortly before my ill-fated space flight, I parted ways with a youthful, handsome go-getter with a keen eye for attractive women and plenty of money to boot. I had decided to end our engagement because our relationship was getting in the way of my career as an accomplished astronaut. I have wondered secretly to myself if he might actually be my son's father, since my boy's hair color is impossibly different from mine and my King's. I have often thought of my former lover, and hoped he finally found the right girl and stopped his womanizing ways. So: Tab Hunter, if you're still out there, Marlena wishes you only the best!!
My favorite band is the Royal Coins with their hit song "Serenade for a Moat Monster". Actually, it wasn't a hit song until my husband and I decreed that it was. I also love anything with a good pan flute. Oh, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
We do not attend cinema on our world, although I have been known to enjoy a good stage production or two. My personal favorite is "TRIUMPH OF THE QUEEN" starring our darling Man-E-Faces as myself. My favorite moment is in the show's finale when almost everyone has died. When Man-E turns toward the audience, spinning his green velvet dress ever so gently about the ankles, holds up the power sword, and calls aloud, "For my beloved kingdom: I HAVE THE POWER!", it is truly rapturious. I get misty every time.
As you may know, we do not have televisions on Eternia. However, I do understand that on earth you watch our "historical documents" about our adventures, which I think is just precious of you! In fact, they even sell ALL of the adventures on dvd in volume sets. You should buy them!
Currently on my bedside table: 1001 WAYS TO WEAR ONE DRESS; STOICISM: A LIFESTYLE; HOW TO RULE A KINGDOM WHILE BEING SILENT; ON THE SUBJECT OF TIARAS; and ADVANCED ASTROPHYSICS.
Eternia is populated with almost nothing but heroes, with only the occasional normal citizen. However, our mightiest champion is HE-MAN and his trusty steed BATTLECAT. Need I say more? It seems on that on Earth you have a similar hero who goes by the name "Saturday Night Special". Apparently he's some kind of hero of the night who rescues ladies in distress, albeit only on saturdays. I'm left wondering if there's a different hero for each day of the week. I would sure hate to be kidnapped by Skeletor on a sunday!
