About Me

If you have ever seen Malonda Richard on television, or have met her in person, you shortly realize that talking is her ‘thing’. Given the chance, Malonda will have a riveting conversation with just about anyone- from a homeless person to your run-of-the-mill celebrity. Malonda’s openness is comforting in close encounters, and her listening assures an even better connection. Graced with a stunningly fresh face and svelte body, Malonda reflects the confidence, humility and determination of entertainment’s next superstar. Malonda’s dynamic personality illuminates on camera, catching hold of those who crave intellect, creativity and style. With such a spirited presence, Malonda looks at life through a magical lens, and invites the world to capture its full essence in one woman’s take.
As host, actress and model, Malonda communicates with a powerful, natural ability. She earned her following as former host of BET: Next and Out the Box, music programs showcasing cutting-edge alternative, hip-hop, gospel and R&B artists, from 1999-2001. Malonda carried this energy throughout the network, accepting projects thereafter with BET Jazz. Malonda’s tenure at BET jump-started other television and event projects with CBS, Absolut, and added a number of legendary interviews, tributes, music festivals, videos, shows and commercials to her credits.
Malonda has a look of certainty in every photograph. She radiates a calm, convinced disposition that has created winning pitches for clients like Independence Bank, celebrity hairstylist Diane DaCosta, various Black hair magazines and COCOACHiC. Malonda’s face is featured .. and in books and magazines.
Through her many formal dialogues, Malonda has entertained topics of art, music, fashion, beauty, history and politics. In 2003, however, Malonda’s conversation shifted to an entirely different concept… parenting. Her precious, life-altering event left Malonda, for once, speechless. Malonda’s challenges as a single mother were intense, and she spent countless hours gauging the balance of career and family. While refocusing her life’s lens, Malonda was determined to create the best of both worlds.
Today, Malonda is starring in and producing an original documentary, affectionately titled, Mamihood: A Reel Life Documentary. An award-winning television producer and highly skilled, NYU-trained multi-media professional, Malonda shares a compelling, one-of-kind, cinematic experience. Not just a film project, Mamihood is a movement that seeks to improve the quality of life for single mothers everywhere, in efforts for them to be and ‘breed’ their best. Malonda is also completing her first book about being a single pregnant mother, which will be published in June 2007.
