About Me

A musician that's been on hiatus & in "the closet" for a while (LOL)! My first musical encounter was using mom's kitchenwareas a percussion set - which drove her nuts (LOL). Eventually progressed to making my own instruments - using anything fromtrain track fragments (make really cool whistles) to glass bottle vibraphones/wind sounds & plastic paint buckets for drums.Sometimes, I would get together with neighborhood kids & practice body percussion at some local parks in Long Beach & LosAngeles. We would, also, check out people jamming there. That was a really cool experience, as we were always asked toreturn...
Playing woodwinds was purely incidental & accidental. As a child, I had a babysitter who happened to be a sax & organ player. For the babysitter's amusement, I was made to stand on a chair & blow into the sax - of course having a lot of trouble withit, as I was only 3 years old then. After much frustration, I finally blew out a solid note & got a few lessons after that!In early school years, I actually played clarinet because of the cost.
In music class, though I was great at keeping pitch, my teacher would chastise me for improvising on sheet music. There wereincidences that earned detention for "jazzin' up" or "funkin' out" classical music during live orchestral performances (LOL).To my surprise, the audience would nearly always encourage my "negative" behavior by laughing & clapping to the beat. Iwonder how many times the conductors were asked: "Who is that kid...?" These poor guys had to find a way to keep me occupied- by giving me private lessons, for different genres. Throughout my school years, I had the pleasure of playing bothclarinet, sax & oboe, in band & orchestra.
A new experience is with electronic instruments. Being a computer geek has it's finer moments (LOL). I'm simply amazed atwhat can be done with acoustic/electronic instruments & a computer! After experimenting with some "new toys," I made the fewsamples you're listening to, right now. Being a one-woman-band is fascinating; however, I would like to, eventually, collaborate with other musicians to add some "flava"...
Any style of music brings joy & a smile to my face. One might say that it is my anti-drug. Music has always been a universallanguage & food for the soul! Any art form is my passion, whether it be music, painting, sculptures, all forms of literature, etc. Works of art are the true embodiment of the artists & a window to their souls.
Sports? Yes, I consider it as an art form. I will admit that I am a pool junkie. If there are any pool shooters out there, Iwant the next game...LOL!!!
Computers? Again, don't get me started - I love them! I've been building my own since 1988 & involved with them pre-datingDOS. With a few more additions, good ol' "R2D2" (Dad's endearment for my CPUs) will have a new name - DAW Frankenputer Studiowill be complete....
Are there any military veterans around? SupaSnoop is a Navy vet & would like to hear from you!
