Black Pearl Filmworks, LLC is a full service TV & Film production company located in Los Angeles and founded by Executive Producer and Director Morenike Efuntade Evans. With over a decade of experience in film & television production, Black Pearl Filmworks develops and produces quality films and TV shows that are entertaining and provocative with universal appeal.With a Master’s in Film and a Bachelor’s in Journalism, Morenike has written for acclaimed institutions such as The Washington Post, The Washington Times and the now-defunct, YSB magazine.Her first film, “The Water Story,” aired on Starz and in syndication on national television. Most recently , Morenike developed a 30-minute series for BETJ entitled "INFLUENCES" which was one of the top shows watched on the network and is still currently in on the air.Morenike’s past clients include MTV News, BET, BETJ, Animal Planet, E! Networks and MTV. She has worked for shows including Rap City, Politically Incorrect, E!’s Love Ride, TRL, DFX and MTV's DisMissed!She has directed & produced a variety of talent including Anthony Hamilton, Lalah Hathaway, Dwele, Goapele, Raheem Devaughn, Lil Kim, Will Smith, Kim Fields, Leon, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, George Huff, P. Diddy, Janet Jackson and Usher.Black Pearl Filmworks also produces music videos—and past projects have included a Christmas video for American Idol finalist George Huff, an R&B video for upcoming artist Regi Ransdell and a reggae/dancehall video for Jack Nasty shot on location in Turks & Caicos.On the film side, Black Pearl Filmworks is currently developing 2 feature films, “Oil & Blood” and “Reality Check”. Both of these screenplays, which were written by Morenike Efuntade Evans, were finalists in the Tribeca Film All Access competition and in Scriptapalooza screenwriting contest.
