Askala Selassie The Fruit of the Holy Trinity. Born in London England and raised to the beat of the Caribbean. The rhythm of Jamaica forever rooted in her soul; finally lead her back to her roots.Helping to keep Bob Marley’s legacy alive, she performed with the remaining Wailers band; keeping roots and culture alive for the next generation.With music forever running through her veins, she writes and performs her own amazing music which combines traditional with non traditional.Askala is here to keep love alive, to keep music alive, to keep JAH love alive.For the last 22 years all Askala has ever wanted to do is sing. She has worked, performed and toured with some of reggaes greatest English and Jamaican artists from Colour Red, Prince Malachi, to The Wailers and Luciano.Since meeting The Wailers Askala has gained excellent experience. She toured with the Wailers in countries such as Italy, Spain, Hungry, Switzerland, and Sardinia. From this Askala has excelled in all aspects of her music.Askala is currently working very closely with Karl Topping the engineer for the Wailers, and is also K Big neck from Big neck productions. They are working on her single ‘Faith’, which is soon to be released.In October 2005 Askala Selassie recorded ‘Faith’ at Pinkney (form the Root Radix) studio in Kingston, and recently went to Jamaica to record the video for Faith.The video was recorded by Asha -Sling Shot Produstions and One Locz Ras - Shac works.Askala is also working on a project in Italy with Steve Giant from RASta snob, on a tune called ‘Oh JAH’ which will be released early 2007 on a compilation album. It is still in its early stages, but Steve is hoping to get Tanya Stevens, Lady Saw, Maka Diamond and Zoë on the album, which will be called Super Reggae Girls.Askala would like to give thanks to the ALMIGHTY for leading her through this path, and for filling her with eternal love, which she gives freely through her music.
