About Me

Music Connection Magazine
Club Review

Rachel Lynn conveys raw emotion in songs that have universal narrative appeal… She and the band bring on diverse genres of rock, jazz, R&B and pop with nearly flawless arrangements. Lynn’s show is a guaranteed good time; she connects with the audience in an intimate and positive way…Lynn’s soaring vocals, coupled with gutsy spirit and beautiful music, are magnetic enough to take your breath away. Being able to hit octaves in a wide range, Lynn displays a sexy vocal ability similar to the likes of Joss Stone and Lauryn Hill. Lynn let her presence be known by keeping good eye contact with the audience while moving slyly and rhythmically on the stage at the Rolling Beat Records and IVth Elements’ benefit party for P.A.T.H. (People Assisting the Homeless)…

RL Interviews with Herndon Davis Diversity Reports
Herndon Davis (educational, inspirational and motivational writer and radio host) Interviews RL:
Herndon - "I met her 1.5 years ago at a benefit in Los Angeles. She was then just an unknown singer performing that evening as she tightly clutched her microphone with the stage presence of a pro. Her vocal uniqueness captured my attention so much that I never forgot it...If there's one thing that Rachel Lynn possesses, it's gutsy faith to pursue her calling in music..."
RL - " What keeps me going... is being able to channel and express wisdom, new ideas and experience. It's my job, as an artist to be a sort of conductor and I take it very seriously."

RACHEL LYNN BIOGRAPHY

Acting as a soulful rep for humanity, Rachel Lynn brings unbridled honesty to the stage. Her lyrics are soaked with passion, irony and humility and only her unforgettable voice can facilitate the power of her message.
"What you see going on around me is a mirage; something that wouldn't be present or real without muziq...there really is a drum that beats underneath it all."As a jazz pianist and vocalist in her late teens, and then as a member of the University of Oregon's elite GOSPEL SINGERS group, Rachel Lynn has gained an edge in shaping the essence of her music. Still, she pushes on into other diverse genres with professional influences that embrace:TRACY CHAPMAN, LAURYN HILL, ERYKAH BADU, ALANIS MORISSETTE.

To see Rachel Lynn perform is to be captivated. She owns the mic like a cool cat and enchants her listeners, transporting them to a place where honesty and passioncollectively reside.

This newfound California-girl released her debut album, NEW DAY, c/o Rolling Beat Records, in March of 2006. The album is a showcase of her soulful voice, passionate melodies and the best of her twelve- year songwriting career. Band Bio

Rachel Lynn brings together the best of Los Angeles' studio musicians to bring you a fresh LIVE show every time she plays. She draws a consistent crowd of 75-100 with the band and loves to showcase new artists, MCs and songs in each new show.

"My favorite thing at a gig is that I never know who I'm going to see... my audience is in a sort of rotation to where I get see new people every time we're on stage."

The instrumentation ranges from a four piece acoustic: with upright bass, 2 guitars and percussion...to a fleshed out 8 piece with bass, guitar, drums, percussion, keys and two backup vocalists.

"I'm a prolific songwriter and work hard to keep the musicians up to speed with my writing; They're always being challenged with new material. That being said...the instrumentation I choose for a show really depends on the vibe of the songs that I've recently written."

RL and her band will continue to rock the stage in 2008 with their well-known professionalism and musicianship. For the ear that is in need of both musical and spiritual inspiriation: take a trip to go see Rachel Lynn.
