Please introduce yourself and tell us how you got into modeling?
My name is Miki Ariyama. I started modeling when a friend of mine asked me to model some of his clothing. I shot in a couple of his outfits and that's how I caught the modeling bug. I was a very shy girl growing up and I didn't feel like I was cute enough to be in front of the camera. So modeling was the last thing I thought of doing or pursuing. However, since that first shoot I just continued to do it and the rest is history.
How long have you been modeling?
I have been modeling for about 6 years. I've create a niche for myself and now it's full steam ahead. I really enjoy the art of posing and giving off different emotional expression. Plus, the dressing up and getting my hair done and making a living off of it isn't all that bad. Nevertheless, modeling is not about just being pretty, it about artistic self expression and expressing what the client want.
You take very classy photos, How do you know where to draw the line?
I'm very comfortable with my body, I have no problem showcasing it. I draw the line at pornographic images, which I don't find beautiful. As far as nudity, if the right offer & project presents itself, I would be open to it.
What type of modeling do you like to do?
I like to do print, glamour, casual and artistic. I'm very selective with whom I choose to shoot with. It's about chemistry with the photographer, when it comes to shooting. Plus most of my shoot revolve around my own products, so I have full control over what is seen. I wouldn't have it any other way!!!
