Jesse Selwyn made the move to Los Angeles after graduating from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where he majored in film and television production. He has quickly made a name for himself as a cutting-edge creative in the television, viral, and new media spaces. He recently won the branded content short film competition for SAB Miller Brewing / Filmaka and received two Telly Awards in honor of his work with television and new media spots.
Jesse produced/directed several comedy segments for the G4 Television Network. Spots include "iVinyl," (nominated Best Comedy Video of 2007 by Yahoo! Video) "Porno Fireplace (with Ron Jeremy)," “Vodka in a Stapler,” “Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Usher,” “The Worst Ideas in Mafia History,” and “Cupid University of MovieMaking: Porn School.”
He is also a director for Back Alley Films , a commercial/new media production company which "brings an A-list of right and left coast directors to a traditionally under-served part of the country - the middle: home of ultra-creative writers, art directors and designers with flat accents but lush mindscapes."
Jesse has an easy going demeanor and a reputation for collaborating with teams and talent to create successful spots. He pays particular attention to running a comfortable set and approaches each project with a boundless, explorative outlook. He places importance on room for improvisation while consistently maintaining a high level of procedure and organization.
Jesse is also an accomplished musician, having a strong dedication to acoustic and electric guitar and piano since an early age. He has performed hundreds of live gigs with touring bands and continues to perform today.
Currently, Jesse is producing/directing spots for Back Alley Films and various television/new media outlets.
