About Me

It all started when I bought my first 3 records: Jean Michael Jarre - Oxygen, Josh Wink - Consciousness and Pacific State - 808 State (back in 1997). From that day onwards I was a connoisseur of all things black, round, groovy and musical. Then came my 1210 Technics mk2's which to this day I am proud to say that I'm still totally in love with.
As time passed my vinyl collection grew as did my need for more diverse and new music. Being an active member of the local party scene, it wasn't long before I started getting involved with organisers and promoters, namely FilthyDom and his Pure-Filth crew and the Horizon Sound System. One thing led to another and it wasn't long before I was dj-ing at local events, parties and gigs. Some of which have been in some rather bizarre locations, warehouses, work yards, and even under motorway bridges. In addition to these less conventional venues I have dj-ed at many local bars and clubs including Brass Monkeys, Edwards, Sausage, The Lost Weekend, Moog, The Edge, The Sanctuary (Birmingham), The Bomb and Flo. I was also a semi-finalist at the Superstar DJ tournament organised by DJMAG and Hard To Find Records in 2004.
With an ever growing pile mountain of records anyone who knows me, knows where my true passion lies. Recently, however, due to space management issues and my constantly hectic lifestyle, I have now started downloading music for dj purposes and made the leap into the digital era. Ableton Live and Pioneer CDJ1000's have revolutionised my approach to music, whether this be in the production, research or performance stages. I believe that from a non audiophile perspective that vinyl has fewer benefits to both producers and dj's as digital formats have.
My most recent project has been the promotion of Hidden Sessions club-night which is what myself and the team are constantly looking to build on and expand. We are always on the lookout for new people to come on board and support us in whatever way they can. As John Digweed once said, "Thankyou to everyone for keeping the scene alive".
Oh by the way, here is a link to a Mix by Hidden Sessions Promoter & resident DJ Stefan Flannery followed by full tracklisting:

Music:

Progressive House, Tech House, Techno, Electronic House, Minimal House/Techno, Breakbeat, Ambient & Leftfield, Clasical, Jazz, and anything else that has a good groove and plenty emotional moments. I don't like to file music into genres and sub genres as classifications are virtually always opinionated. However, Bedrock has to be one of the best record labels ever.

MISS XS

Miss XS is now back behind the decks after taking time out to work on her productions and remixes. Having a Top seller on Influential Trax under her alias Dirt:E Funkin Djs, a Vinyl release due out in Australia under her Miss XS name and remixing for some of the best digital labels around, she has been hard at work making all styles of Electro House and House. With her remix of "Prodigy - Charly " rocking clubs from Gatecrasher in Ibiza to Pacha in Spain, radios in Australia and clubs in the UK, she is showing people just why she is tipped to be the next big thing.

Her tracks are now selling on the best digital sites on the internet and being played by some of the best djs in the scene.

Having already proved herself as far afield as China, Miami, Washington DC, Norway, Ibiza, Greece, Dubai and of course in UK, at clubs such as Space, Miami and The Angel Club, China, on Galaxy Fm’s Nu Breed show in the UK and events such as the world famous WMC, Miss XS is now stepping back behind the decks ready to rock crowds with her mixing skills and ability to read a crowd and get them moving no matter what time of the night she is there.

Miss XS is fast impressing promoters world wide being asked back again and again after getting the crowds packed into events and even being asked to play extra time over in the USA when promoters and clubbers noticed a particular talent. Her name is fast spreading on Both scenes in the UK as well with many promoters booking her as far in advance as September. With an Australia / Asia tour being sorted out at the moment.

Miss XS has been playing Hard Dance music for almost 5 years now taking in a wide variety of clubs around the world in areas such as Greece, Dubai and UK. Just over 2 years ago she started seriously producing and after months of hard work in the studio has now got 10 Hard Dance tracks signed and released both on digital and vinyl. Her tracks are being played at events around the world and are causing a stir.

Two years ago Miss XS also branched out to play House music which has become a success for her. After her first UK gig just a month after starting house music she was asked out to China and things have picked up from there with gigs in Ibiza, Norway, Miami, Washington Dc and many more including a gig at the world famous WMC last year, as well as Space and Nikki beach in Miami.

From bedroom to professional engagements in a few short months, Miss XS's Career really took off when she moved from her native Wolverhampton to Derby a couple of years ago for university and has continued to flourish since the move to Stoke on Trent. Now playing House music aswell as Hard Dance Miss XS has established herself worldwide. Much has been achieved since starting out with national bookings playing hardstyle and hard dance in clubs, bars and on national and international radio stations, with performances archived and weekly on the web. She has played along side djs such as Ilogik, Tara Reynolds, Paul Maddox, Rob Tissera, K90, KV from Radio One Dubai, Daniel Divoli, Ali Wilson, Little Gem, Donna Birt, Rachel Auburn, Andy Whitby, Vicky Devine, Charlotte Birch, Caroline Banx, Danny Tenaglia and Steve Lawler.

Pirate radio was important in the early stages of Miss XS's career, with some pirate work still being, with later moves to mainstream and internet radio stations - such as infusionfm, wcr1350, bpmradio, spiritlive, kclass (loud and proud radio) - Miss XS used to play weekly on x-tremebeatz.com, and selectaradio.com plus monthly on tranceairwaves.com. Along with that Miss XS was made risefm.com resident and is the first ever female dj on the radio. Miss XS now does rare guest shows around the world.

International success has arrived for Miss XS, after the start Miss Xs had in Greece in 2002 , she has already played in Dubai, China, Norway, Ibiza and Miami and impressed the clubbers and promotors in those places so much that she will be back there on a regular basis aswell as on Radio One in Dubai soon. While taking her house music to China, Miami, Norway, Ibiza, Washington DC and more last year Miss XS is showing people what english females can do on the decks and impressing everyone. Tours globally are now being arranged.

Rhythm Rebels
After meeting each other through a student radio station during the late 90's, Alex and Owain could sense that they had an instant empathy for the way each other lived for music. Both were already emerging talents on the Midlands underground music scene and the obvious next move was to collaborate.

Honing their skills and thirst for musical knowledge through endless club appearances, sound system performances and free parties (sunrise in the wood's set's........cant beat them!!!), meant it wasn’t long before Rhythm Rebels had an acute understanding of what it takes to achieve their shared goal; to rock people to their foundations!!

This pair don’t just play records they put on shows. Their natural ability to work as a team is best seen in their live DJ performances. Whether it is one hour or several days they consistently rock crowds with a unique 'cut and scratched' blend of their own productions, along with those of other artists who fit their distinctive and original sound. This delivers what people need to forget their daily grind and loose themselves to the music. Their live performances encapsulate all that is important to the twosome; music and the people and machines that love it.

With ongoing remixes, original productions and more live appearances, Rhythm Rebels continue to build their reputation as one of the 'not to be missed' electronic music acts making their way up through the ranks.

To give you a taste and get you in the Mood...

How to DJ properly - The title itself can really intimidate a lot of dj's. However, it is a book full of really good tips and tricks that I would say are essential in todays highly competitive environment.

I think that by my age we have all grown out of the hero worshiping culture, and that does not imply that I am an old fart. So be warned!!!
