Nikki Allen was born January 7th in Chicago, IL. She displayed singing and gymnastics talents at the early age of three years old. Her musical and athletic gifts spawned numerous awards and accolades throughout her childhood and adolescence.
While showcasing her five octave vocal range as well as musicianship as a flutist, Nikkis gymnastics career blossomed, which resulted in an opportunity to train for the U.S. Olympic team. Her path to the Olympics was short-circuited due to an injury sustained during practice. Disappointed but not disillusioned, Nikki re-channeled her focus to her first love music. She performed talent shows, showcases, and any other venue that allowed her to pursue her burning desire to perform.
On the recording end, Nikki has performed several songs penned by staff writers at EMI, Chrysalis Publishing and Universal Records. Shes had the opportunity to work with producers Darryl Simmons and Al B. Sure! Her voice was also featured on album projects such as Michael Speaks, Time Warners Looney Tunes Loveable Lullabies, Time Warners Animaniacs Singalong, and Hanna Barberas Friends. Ms. Allen also sang the Lola Bunny Song in the Michael Jordan movie, Space Jam and appeared on Orpheus Records artist, Rens self-entitled CD.
As a songwriter, shes teamed up with jazz great Jeff Lorber, producers Zack Harmon & Chris Troy (Janet Jackson), Tony Haynes (Chante Moore), Oji Pierce (Montell Jordan), Gee Gee Harbour (Destinys Child), Stanley Jones (K-Ci and JoJo), The Key Pushas (Keith Sweat).
In 1998, after completing a six month tour in Asia, Nikki went back to Chicago and started a new record label, Flavors Entertainment, Inc., which eventually evolved into NikSound Entertainment, Inc. She secured a major distribution deal with Private I/PolyGram Records and was set to release her own album project that year. The first single, What About Me debuted on WGCI, Chicago and quickly became a requested song by listeners. The second release was from Chicago based rap artists Sypaz. This highly charged hip-hop group became a Chicago sensation. Unfortunately, the label disbanded due to a tragic accident with Johnnie Martin, Nikki Allens partner.
In 2001, Nikki returned to Los Angeles ready to begin the quest once again. In 2003, she teamed up with artist Jon B. and hit the road, not only as a singer but as a musician as well and also went back into the studio to record.
Later that year, this single mother went back to school to study Television Production where not only was she inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa International Honor Society, but she became the director of various local shows on Adelphia cable. She also played a major part in the media ministry at her church, which airs a show locally and nationally entitled Balanced Living. She started as the tape operator for the show and then became a camerawoman, and eventually became the shows talent scout. Soon after that, she found herself working on the sets of national commercials and music videos such as Lexus, Dell, SAAB, Musiq Soulchild, Lenny Kravitz, Angie Stone, Houston to name a few, as a 2nd 2nd Assistant Director. She quickly moved up to 2nd A.D. and then 1st A.D. as well as casting director for Cingular Wireless.
Lastly, but definitely not least, Nikki is recording a new album project, The One, in which she is writing and producing with various well-known producers. Several singles are currently playing on radio stations throughout the country and are generating a wonderful response from listeners. They are anxiously awaiting the release of the project.
Nikki Allen is undoubtedly a rare talent. With her vision close at hand, she is destined to become one of the most influential and successful women of our time...1/nikkiallen1/2006-7.jpg
