Marc Nelson is best known to the general public for his strong vocal presence as a solo artist on the hit single "15 Minutes", as an original member of the LaFace-based group Az Yet with "Last Night", and his duet with Beyonce Knowles on "The Best Man" soundtrack with the slamming single "When All Is Said And Done".
In addition to being known as an incredible vocal talent with seamless falsetto, the rest of the music industry recognizes Marc as the prolific and intense lyricist/co-lyricist of over 250 R&B and Jazz songs that draw sentiment from the depth of the soul. Marc was also a founding member of Boyz II Men while attending The Philadelphia High School For Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) before leaving the group in 1990 to pursue his solo singing and writing career. Browsing the booklets of the cds of Brandy, Will Downing, Brian Culbertson, Freddie Jackson, Tyrese and many more will blaze a trail back to this accomplished graduate of "The University of LaFace".
Speaking of "BLAZING"... Marc has teamed up with 3 fellow powerhouse vocalists, Gary "G" Jenkins [Silk], Terrell Phillips [Blackstreet] and Tony Grant [Az Yet], to create "BLAYSE".
Blayse is in the studio with Mike City, Trackmasters, Shep Crawford, The Co-Stars, Orange Factory and Stargate (Ne-Yo "So Sick" and "Sexy Love", Rihanna "Unfaithful") working on their debut album. Four amazing voices. A whole new sound bringing real music back. Prepare to be swept off your feet.
In addition to working on a new release with Blayse, Marc has developed a consortium of fellow lyricists to form
Through Lyric Masters 911, Marc and his associates have pooled their skills to assist fellow producers and songwriters accentuate new creations with colorful words and tempos for a broad range of genres allowing artists to tap into the depth of their talents.
Marc's current projects include work with Howard Hewitt, En Vogue and Freddie Jackson.

Marc was recently honored by SESAC at their third Jazz Awards Luncheon for his authorship on "It's On Tonight" by Brian Culbertson. The event honored jazz writers whose works achieved Top 5 status on the jazz charts from January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2006.
