Marc Nelson is releasing a collection of 15 tracks in a new compilation album entitled, “Marc: My Words.†The release date for this project is July 24, 2007.
This collection of songs will showcase Nelson’s reknown writing talents as well as highlighting his incredible singing and musical talents, presenting his fans with a timeless album. “Marc: My Words†will include the original full vocal version of the hit song “I Don’t Wanna Be In Loveâ€, the energetic uptempo “Just Say Soâ€, the provactive club track “Sex Me Tonight†and the soul-stirring ballads “Find Me†and “The First Timeâ€.
The project is being released as an independent project through Nelson’s company, Lyric Masters 911 (credited for singles on recent releases by Freddie Jackson and Charlie Wilson). Nelson received an award from SESAC for his contributions to Brian Culbertson’s “It’s On Tonight†album which placed in Billboard’s top 100 (Jazz Contemporary) for 100 weeks straight.
Nelson, who has written over 300 songs in his career, is the former lead singer of the R&B group Az Yet and founding member of Boyz II Men. Nelson also had two solo releases, “I Want You†(1991, Capitol Records, which included a cover of the Marvin Gaye hit by the same name) and “Chocolate Mood†(2001, Columbia Records, which included the hit single “15 Minutesâ€).

I work in the entertainment industry as a marketing guru - mainly for urban events and artist development. I've worked with artists from all genres. My first project was for Bobby Sparks, Grammy Award-winning producer. The next project after that was for Dove Award-nominated Christian Alternative mega-band, Seventh Day Slumber. I have also worked with rap mega-star, Mystikal. Most recently, I have been working with a couple of very talented 90's r&b bands on some new projects. I am very blessed to have such a great opportunity.
When it's time for business, I am focused and diligent. I like to mix in fun, too. I have built some strong and long-lasting relationships mainly by treating my associates with respect and taking care of my end of things ~ whatever it takes. I have an extremely broad range of associates in the Dallas area and nationwide. Basically, if they've produced, played or spit on a track in the last 30 years, I can get at them either directly, or through the industry network.
