.............. Welcome, Come on in! No shirt, no shoes, no problem! I hope you enjoy your stay. This space is dedicated to all with PASSION for the beach, ocean and the environment around us. About me: WHAT A WONDERFUL Life! I have been fortunate to have had the ocean as my play ground all my life. As a child I have found myself curiously drawn to the seaside. Now as I’m grown I find it’s a place for reflection. The beach inspires me and the ocean never ceases to fascinate me. My relationship with the beach has been life long and is a passion of mine. My Space is just one more way I’m working to engage others in environmental issues and encourage people to take action and help promote the effort to protect our ocean and beaches. I'll start by saying: I'm passionate about making a difference! I challenge all of you to take the right steps to that big goal of improving the world around us. I believe we all have a responsibility to ensure that our impact on the environment is positive one. Whether we’re supporting science, education or environmental programs. On this site I will be sharing my thoughts, ideas and concerns, along with other environmentally friendly people. I believe in coming together, sharing together, working together for the environment even if we are apart. “Ask yourself whether the dream of heaven and greatness should be waiting for us in our graves - or whether it should be ours here and now and on this earth.” Please feel free to stop by and say hi!

SHARING IS CARING! // My Video pick of the week// Each week I will be posting a new Video to share on my site. Send me one you would like to have posted. *Let’s challenge more corporate companies to make a difference.Ex-owners of Halaco site seek to limit liability ..DON’T LET THEM OFF THE HOOK THAT EASY!I have been fortunate to have been raised by the ocean all my life in beautiful Oxnard and played on Oemond beach as a child. We need to protect our environment for future generations to enjoy. What are the lessons learned and how can it be prevented from happening in the future, if we don’t make the Ex-owners of Halaco own up to there responsibility?----------- map You've been marked on my visitor map! I'd like to meet:

I would like to meet new and interesting people and maybe some old friends who have been lost but not forgotten. It's amazing! As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back. Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

**************** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~HAZARDOUS ORMOND BEACHO DUNES, One day last month I and a good friend carefully walked the edge of Ormond Beach dunes where least terns and snowy plover make their nests. We were walking toward the power plant, built in the 1960’s. As we walked, there was a sight I couldn't ignore. It looked Scary, so big and bad and Ugly. It was a large pile, and a collection of rust- and graffiti-covered buildings and a large heap that was four stories high, it looked like a monster. It was what some company officials left behind when the company called Halaco went bankrupt and closed a few years ago. It was hard to think that this was happening in our home town for it was on this very same stretch of beach we both played as kids. As we stood marveling at the mound, I thought to myself we really shouldn't get any closer; it's not safe here. It saddened me to think of who could do this to the beach and environment. How can we ever restore it back to the stretch of beach that I once played on as a kid? So that my kids can enjoy the same beach. What are the lessons learned and how can it be prevented from happening in the future?I say let’s challenge corporate companies to make an environmental difference and be role models for our community’s. My Environmental Poem: THE BEACH I ONCED PLAYED On the beach I once played A meditative spot ~ An acre for a bird to choose Would be my general thought ~ Oh the hazards I do say I found them in the sand It got buried up and gets covered up Swept under the sand ~ How Hazardous the sand below? How insecure the sea? Should we dare to breathe air? On this beach I once played "Oh" how I use to love it so! A place my children can not play today~ Read more: Log on to California Coast & Ocean http://www.coastalconservancy.ca.gov/coast&ocean/summer2 002/pages/one.htm
