About Me

Mission Statement
Through education, advocacy, and citizen empowerment in Indiana, the Hoosier Environmental Council works to protect and restore the natural systems upon which life depends.
Vision Statement
By 2025, Hoosiers will embrace a conservation ethic that values long-term sustainable use and preservation of our natural heritage. Thus, Indiana will become a leader in creating livable urban and rural communities that provide basic needs of life: clean air and water, safe food, and thriving natural areas.
We work for this because we value Indiana's heritage, and want to pass on a legacy of a high quality of life for future generations. We recognize that a viable, strong economy depends on a healthy environment.
