The greatest threats to wildlife and their habitats are LOSS OF HABITAT via urban sprawl, never ending development, fragmentation of large habitat areas and movement corridors, lack of enforcement of environmental laws by local governments and weakening of environmental legislation by politicians. Therefore, what is needed most of all for wildlife, is the acquisition and conservation of large contigous wild lands and to leave endemic plant species in place.
PLEASE DONATE HERE
Since 2000, The Habitat Trust has acquired nearly 500-acres of threatened and globally imperiled habitats for wildlife in Southern California. This includes three canyons in the San Gabriel Mountains (Unnamed canyon west of Day, North Etiwanda and Henderson) north of Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino County.

It is with the generousity of our supporters, like you, that our work florishes and is successful. Our annual budget for conservation projects, administration, legal defense and scientific research is at least $250,000.
Cost per imperilled sage habitat acre in San Bernardino County, CA is $40,000.-$100,000. from willing sellers.

Large mammals (Black Bear, Cougar, Mule Deer, Bobcat, Grey Fox), amphibians (Red legged frogs, Tree frogs and Southwestern Arroyo Toads) and lots of native and migratory birds all actively use and need this area.

I find beauty in everything in my world!

Beauty is everywhere.

Natural beauty shines forth from every little flower, from the patterns of reflected light on the surface of water, from the quiet strength of old trees.

Nature thrills me; it renews and refreshes me.

I find relaxation, enjoyment, and healing in the simplest things in life.

As I look with love at nature, I find it easy to look with love at myself.

I am part of nature; thus, I am beautiful in my own unique way.

Where I look, I see beauty.

Today I resonate with all the beauty in life.

Beauty arouses and heals me.

We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect. - Aldo Leopold

To waste and destroy our natural resources, to skin and exhaust the land instead of using it so as to increase its usefulness, will result in undermining in the days of our children the very prosperity which we ought by right to hand down to them. - Theodore Roosevelt

We say we love flowers, yet we pluck them. We say we love trees, yet we cut them down. And people still wonder why some are afraid when told they are loved. - Anonymous

We Are the Ones We've Been Waiting For...

You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour.

Now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour and there are things to be considered:

Where are you living?

What are you doing?

What are your relationships?

Are you in right relation?

Where is your water?

Know your garden.

It is time to speak your Truth.

Create your community.

Be good to each other and do not look outside yourself for the leader.

This could be a good time!

There is a river flowing now very fast.

It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid.

They will try to hold on to the shore.

They will feel they are being torn apart, and they will suffer greatly.

Know this river has its destination.

The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above water.

See who is in there with you and celebrate.

At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, least of all, ourselves.

For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.

The time of the lone wolf is over.

Gather yourselves!

Banish the word "struggle" from your attitude and your vocabulary.

All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

We are the ones we've been waiting for.
