Hector Rodriguez

Born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. Started playing guitar at the age of 14, playing rock covers in high school rock bands. At the age of 18, he enrolled in the BIN (Berklee International Network) school in Mexico, Academia de Musica Fermatta, while also studying privately with renowned musicians from the Mexico City music scene. Following graduation from that school, he transferred to Berklee College of Music, majoring in Performance. This was achieved with the help of a World Scholarship Tour award, which he received while he was still studying at Fermatta. At Berklee, he had the opportunity to study with such renowned faculty as Mick Goodrick, Hal Crook, Joe Lovano, Dave Santoro, Ed Tomassi, Greg Hopkins, Bob Pilkington, Rick Peckham, Tim Miller, Bret Willmott, Rick DiMuzio and Fernando Brandao, among others. Now, following graduation from Berklee, his current focus is in writing and performing original music in the contemporary jazz style and leading his own group, in addition to performing and recording in the projects of other musicians.
