Alvaro Torres

Alvaro Torres was born in Oaxaca Mexico in 1972. He first started playing the guitar at age 15, after finding a guitar by chance in his grandfathers house. In his early playing, he was influenced by rock bands of the 80´s; however he always studied classical music in different cultural centers. In the year 1997, he decided to formalize his musical education by entering “The National School of Music” in Mexico City, later he entered “The Superior School of Music” to study jazz. In the year 2000, he traveled to Pasadena California to study under the teaching of “Frank Gambale” in “Los Angeles Music Academy”. After having participated in various musical projects of different styles with artist of international recognition, and participated in various national T.V shows, he decided to put down his emotions, experiences and expression in his first solo project, in which he uses textures and colors together in shades taken from influences of rock to jazz, that reflect in his own particular form and style of how he views music. The themes of this album are expressions of the ways that the artist sees the world.
