Listener Reviews: ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------- In this racing age of musical and technological overload it is easy to become de-sensitised to the healing and uplifting impact of simple melodies and life loving lyrics. Sometimes there is nothing easier or more effective than listening to a beautiful pure voice sing an easy song to make you feel better.Andi Fredrickson’s clear fresh vocals and pretty vibrato weave a valuable thread through these warm hearted innocent songs.Accompanied by Bawb Hill on guitar and Scott Fredrickson on drums and percussion, this subtle acoustic trio create an emotional, refreshing and original sound reminiscent of the best early sixties U.S. folk and acoustic songwriters. Their evolving and young repertoire also touches 40’s and 50’s chanson, jazz and swing styles, swoops through bossa nova, soul and beyond, landing somewhere in the much needed modern acoustic minimalist present tradition. This is a creatively young and evolving Kansas based acoustic trio who welcome your kind musical feedback. (Jan Allain)----------------------------------------------------- ---------- What a beautiful voice to sit down and relax with while doing some easy listening. Andi Fredrickson, the lead vocalist for Fredrickson Hill, really brings out the music on this CD. The CD opens up with an easy going tune called "Choices", meaning out of everything we have to choose from we are choosing God. The next tune "Just Knowing" also has an easy beat. It also has a hook that is hard to forget after giving the CD a listen. The CD then moves into an intimate tune called "Refuge" that gives a feeling of being alone with God while calling out to him. Fredrickson Hill has a meditative sound throughout the project and would be perfect for those days you just need to sit with God and be in the Word. I have heard Andi Live which really gives me a bias when it comes to her CD. Fredrickson Hill is fun to watch as much as they are to listen to. (Staff Writer - GJ Magazine)-------------------------------- Fredrickson Hill (formerly "I Witness"), is comprised of original songwriter Andi Fredrickson on vocals and piano; Bob Hill co-songwriter, on guitar and bass; and Scott Fredrickson on drums. Together they offer an eclectic blend of original songs in blues, jazz, and pop styles. Through personal and universal lyrics, the band reminds listeners that the God who created the universe also cares deeply about personal struggles and triumphs. The group's foundation in worship leading combined with an appreciation for all styles of music drives the uniqueness of their sound.Fredrickson Hill formed officially in October 2004 and began performing publicly on a regular basis in February 2005. Fredrickson Hill is available for venues small and large, indoor and outdoor. Regular venues are local coffeehouses and church picnics and the band is open to a variety of venues, appearing as a solo act, or in conjunction with other groups.Fredrickson Hill’s debut CD, 20/20 was released under the name I Witness in February of 2005 and has sold over 250 copies locally. The group is currently collaborating on songs of primarily jazz influence for another CD to be released in 2007. 20/20 is available at the band's performances and also at King Cat Music at www.KingCatMusic.com (God’s Will Ministries Inc. 2007)

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: Fredrickson Hill PO Box 3085 Olathe, Kansas 66063
Band Members: Andi Fredrickson: Vocals, Melody and Lyrics --------- Scott Fredrickson: Drums and Percussion ------------------ Bawb Hill: Guitar and Bass
Influences: The songwriting that has been done comes from two distinctively different backgrounds. Andi has a formal music education and was raised on standards and ballads. The artists that have influenced her the most are Sting and James Taylor. Bawb, who has no formal education in music, prefers to seek out eclectic and obscure musical expressions and has been influenced by a great number of alternative or under ground artists such as Brian Eno, Fred Frith and the band Hugo Largo. Together, with input from Scott, we collaborate on themes and variations resulting in the songs of which a few are represented here. Over the last few years, over 40 songs have been written and are available for review to see if a song meets your needs. Work is being done to complete a CD project to highlight our songwriting ability as an expression of Jazz. We are available for collaboration or hire to help create or complete a project. Feel free to contact us for rates. – Bawb (Fredrickson Hill)
