About Me

We are 2 DJ's from Bergen in Norway. We have been working together for some years making Electronica and other genre's of music. During our time we have started to focus more on the downtempo/electronic side of our different projects. Besides our main project here, we have recently decided to upload some of our other stuff at "theotherproject" you find it amongst our top friends. That are some of the tracks we make that doesn`t suit the style and idea of The Foofaraw, but we felt they are worth showing to others. Thanks to Ane Brun and Bugge Wesseltoft for aproving our remixes of their originals. Check out our co-work, The Ballad of Lady D. A huge track with soulful feel, pure joy that is!! Band Members: foofaraw ..FOO-fuh-raw.., A fuss over a matter of little importance.This duo of 2 strange guys, Jan Grov and Oystein Farsund. Jan Grov (30'ish)has been a Dj since he cant remember. Starting working at clubs way before he was old enough to enter them, he has the musical knowledge of a lexicon, and is vinyl addicted. Something his complete collection of Beat Box records is a proof of. Jan`s favorite song is Massive Attack "Live with me" Oystein Farsund (soon 30'ish) has several years as Dj behind him, beiing a multiple genre person, he loves everything from the hardest trance til the most intricate prog/DnB. He lives in Bergen Norway, the second largest city in Norway, and home of names like Royksopp, Annie and Datarock. If you would like a Demo, please send us a mail at [email protected] with complete details (Name,adress and so on) and we will be happy to apply you with a cd as fast as we can print one.
Influences: ROYKSOPP/Alania/ ,Depeche Mode ,the KLF ,Kraftwerk ,Radiohead ,Massive Attack and ItaloDisco. Also a host of other bands in different genre's such as Unkle, Portishead, Sven van Hees, Paul Jackson, Junkie XL, Elbow, Muse, Rammstein, Public Enemy, Bob Marley, Sade, Tricky, Yello, Nouvelle Vague, Hybrid, Mike Oldfield, the Orb, Way out west and a hundred more.......In near future The Foofaraw will feature on different compilations.
