A New Shade was founded by members Tyler Eisenhart and Tommy O’Brien, who had played previously together in other bands (Gimp, Original Soup Krackers, Two Shades of Blue). Aj Abdulshafi and Carrie Davidson were eventually added when Two Shades of Blue came to an end due to musical differences. Upon the addition of these two talented musicians, the band began to really take off. The combination of Davidson’s beautiful, classically trained voice with O’Brien’s pulsing beats and Eisenhart’s searing riffs combined to create a distinct hard rock sound.
The band had success in their hometown of Columbus Ohio, including having their original song "Fallacy" aired on 99.7 The Blitz, performing at PromoWest Pavilion numerous times, winning Battle Of The Bands, playing local bars, performing at "Red, White and Boom", and numerous other events.
Now students attending college in South Carolina, A New Shade hopes to continue their musical pursuits as they grow both academically and musically.
