Luiz Vianna was born in Fortaleza, Brazil on October 4, 1975 where he was exposed to the varied musical styles of his native country. He found inspiration in Bossa Nova, samba, and carnival, as well as the music of Tom Jobim,
Joao Gilberto, Sergio Mendes, Djavan, Nelson Faria, Norman Brown, Larry Carlton, and George Benson among others.By the age of 12, he took the violão (nylon string guitar) as a self taught instrument, focusing his repertoire on Brazilian Folk and Bossa Nova (Brazilian Jazz). He continued his pursuit of technical development through the
study of jazz guitar at the age of 16, attending the Conservatory of Music, several guitar symposiums, work shops and master classes.His experiences range from Studio Musician, Freelance Stage Performer, Private Guitar Teacher, Solo Instrumentalist, Arranger, Songwriter, Singer, and Producer. He has performance experience in: Jazz Ensembles, Latin Bands, Pop Bands, Wedding Bands, Gospel Bands, Solo Guitarist (wedding ceremonies/private parties), Club Bands, and Studio Sessions.He moved to Kansas City, USA in 2000 to attend Kansas City Kansas Community College (Music Technology), Park University (Music Performance), and now Berklee School of Music (Guitar Program-Online Extension).For the last 7 years, as a full time working musician in Kansas City, Luiz Vianna has managed to grow as a composer, producer, musician, and educator while maintaining his passion and love of the singing and guitar. He keeps a busy schedule of live performances through out the KC area.
