Saving the planet from music that sucks.

About Me

TLP is real. Every word and every note in every one of his songs. The casual diversity of the songs on Beautiful Mess, TLP’s first full-length album, is a testament to this. Throughout his life, TLP (Terry Lee Palmer) has not only been exposed to a world of different musical genres but has also been fortunate enough to experience the different lifestyles associated with those genres. From Honky Tonk’s across America to the stage of the Ryman Auditorium or tours of foreign lands, TLP has let all of these experiences shape his musical style and direction. Although TLP considers rock’n’roll to be his main influence, inflections of country, soul, jazz and Americana give each of his songs their own unique style. Born into the urban sprawl of Houston, Texas and raised in the quiet hills of Middle Tennessee, TLP has always been a son of the south. His musical roots, though, have never stopped growing. TLP was naturally drawn to the guitar and initially influenced by the guitar driven sounds of 80’s rock. Throughout high school and college he began to appreciate and study the complexities of classical and jazz. In 1996, he moved to Nashville and was swept up into the booming market of country music. He immediately began touring the U.S. with various country and variety acts, all the while developing his skills as a songwriter. After a stint as lead guitarist/ backing vocalist for Mercury recording artist Mark Wills, TLP decided it was time to step out into the spotlight as an artist himself. The result is Beautiful Mess. Casting aside the demographic barriers, TLP’s target audience is everyone. He believes good music should have no boundaries; that true artists should not have to live, write or perform within those boundaries, and that the audience deserves something real. TLP is real.
