My interest took a massive upswing in music when i wrote a song for an IT Contractor called Urgent Technology who work for BP OIL UK LTD. For my troubles after writing them the E MAINTENANCE SONG which is about there database system they bought me a the latest 16 Track Zoom recording studio so as to help me with my quest to write professionally. This was 20 minutes work for a payoff of about 700 quid, this is when i thought, ah ha, im onto something here....lets keep up the songwriting. I really want to sell more songs, promote music and songwriting, and perform more live. I have done some gigs at friends houses and local pubs as well as a hen night which was wickid, got a big ovation from about 70 pissed young girls, what a buzz!!! and this was when i wasnt very good, and just startin out, but now that i have reached a much higher level of professionalism with my writing i am hoping to start filling small halls.First quest is to get the local hall filled where i live, about 130 capacity, start small and then build brick by brick is my moto.Anyway, other interests are meeting cool people, music obviously, making and writing songs especially, singing, LOVE WRITING POETRY, movies, keeping fit, i like to ride mountain bikes, swim, bodybuilding, going to the cinema, drinking, having fun, going to clubs and dancing, etc. all the usual stuff. With regards to the poetry, i got an A on my first poetry exam as part of my GSCE English, the highest mark in that year, so that was the first time that i realised i had something in terms of a gift with words. It took many years to come back to it as an adult, but that i have, i cant get enough and am not working on my second book, called the SENSUAL COLLECTION which is a book of poems about LOVE and SEX and the joys of SENSUALITY, inspired by my current girlfriend Justina Grinyte...love you forever babes.xxx
I am still interested though to meet or communicate with anybody that is interested in listening to music, talking about music, into creating music and also wanting to work together on music projects. I am also interested to talk to male and female vocalists, instrumentalists, songwriters, record companies, lyric writers, producers, etc. so go ahead and get in touch and drop me a line. LOL and Regards Ethan James Jackson. Poet, Songwriter, Online Reviewer, Promoter. UK, MK. XXX
Radiohead is my all time favourite band, but they doesnt reflect my overall music taste as i am into anything and everything and like to keep abreast of anything new happening in the scene and also to go back and look at music from different eras, all music is good as far as i am concerned
Love Al Pacino, Tom Cruise, Robert Deniro, Denzel Washington, Colin Farrell, Jamie Foxx, there are just so many amazing actors out there i wouldnt even be able to fit them into this small space, so nothing personal guys and girls missed out, but again i LOVE to watch all movies, including action, adventure, thrillers, horrors, martial arts, romantic, etc. I am a MASSIVE movie buff...gimme gimme a film after midnight....ahhh yeahhhhh!!!
Not a massive fan of television but i like to watch informative documentaries and learn about the world and things that i know nothing about so as to create some kind of appreciation for the world and all of the things in it.
Read NINE books since last summer, Tony Thompsons Gangland which observed the origionation and development of gangland crime such as drugs, prositution, people smuggling, kidnapping etc. Tony Thompson writes for the Oberserver newspaper in England as their sole crime reporter. Also Heavier than Heaven about Kurt Cobain, a book on Robert Deniro, also Howard Marks autiobiography called Mr Nice, Manchester Uniteds Managers Diaries from early 1990s, Simon Cowells autobiography from the X Factor This year i have read a book about Oscar Wilde and how he was the first person to use SELF PROMOTION as a tool to catapult him into the media arena and therefore make money by being of interest to the public. I highly recommend that any artist, musician, wordsmith, etc find out about Oscar....an incredible man and story from the 1800s. Also reading now about Roman Abromovich, and how he came from before orphaned at five to rise to being one of the richest men in the world, hard work but fascinating book about another incredible man.
My mum and dad first of all, my brother, my girlfriend Justina in Lithuania, Al Pacino, Bryan Singer the director, Arnold Swarzenneger, Thom York and Chris Martin from Radiohead and Coldplay, Kurt Cobain, the Beatles, especially John Lennon and George Harrison and others that i cannot recall at this time.
