About Me

To quote Rick Derringer..."Give me guitars and women. They both need that tender touch...but guitars and women, they cost and they take so damn much!" I've been playing guitar and bass for over fourty years. I keep telling myself that, one of these days, if I keep practicing, I just might get good at it!

My Interests

Guitars! Vintage guitars, rare guitars, weird guitars, cool guitars and the people that make them sing. Photography! I enjoy shooting portraits, concerts, architecture and of course, beautiful women!

I'd like to meet:

I've been fortunate enough to cross paths with just about everyone I've ever wanted to meet...from interviewing Muhammad Ali one-on-one to hanging out with some of the best musicians in the world. Of course, I'm always interested in meeting new people and hearing about their life experiences. Every new face is an opportunity to learn.

Music:

Dixie Dregs, Steve Morse, Johnny Hiland, Mark Farner, Eric Clapton, Duane Allman, Jimi Hendrix, Danny Gatton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Rory Gallagher, Terry Kath, Stevie Ray Vaughan...starting to see a pattern here? Ron uses Guitars, Amplifiers & Accessories Exclusively!

Movies:

I love submarine movies like K-19: The Widowmaker, U-571, Das Boot, The Hunt for Red October, Gray Lady Down plus a ton of old World War II movies about subs. Probably has something to do with all the time I spent on them while in the Navy. I also love James Bond movies, especially the Sean Connery ones. He played the character the way Ian Fleming wrote it...and, yes, I've read all the books...several times.

Television:

After spending almost ten years in front of a camera, I have very little use for what comes out the other end of it these days. I was a television news reporter, anchor and producer for most of the 80's. Burned out on it, don't miss it and have no desire to go back to it. As Edward R. Murrow said..."Just because your voice reaches halfway around the world doesn't mean you are wiser than when it reached only to the end of the bar."

Heroes:

My grandfather who raised me like I was his own son and Leo Fender...the genius who changed the sound of music forever...
