About Me
incite/
eye-catching experimental audiovisual art
dynamic distorted idm-beats
criss-crossing art and club worlds
creating intense experiences for ears and eyes
incite/ is the Hamburg-based experimental audiovisual electronics duo of Kera Nagel (solo: axiomatic integration) and André Aspelmeier (solo: GradCom).
incite/ plays bone-dry minmal electronics, fragmented idm grooves in broken rhythmic arrangements synced with abstract grayscale videos.
From the very start, incite/ has defined an highly authentic and unique sound on its own: Fragmented electric junk and fragile bursts of static noise meet with extra-charged sub-bass-kicks in impressive conjunction with the intensity of the meticulously constructed visuals and physical presence of the duo within their projected image.
Since the beginning in 2003 live shows were the main focus. From April 03 through April 08 incite/ has played more than 100 gigs, including tours in Europe and the US, numerous single gigs and festivals, such as VAD (Girona), recMadrid (Madrid), 5DaysOff (Amsterdam), Cimatics (Brussels), ExperimentaClub (Madrid), Dokfest (Kassel), Gogbot (Enschede), Zemos 98 (Sevilla), Ausklang (Hamburg), Dialog (Winterthur), Gigfestival (Hamburg), Simultan (Timisoara), Kontra-Musik (Malmo), WRO07 (Wroclaw). 2007 incite/ was awarded with the 3rd prize (best performance) at the WRO07 (12th International Media Art Biennale in Wroclaw, Poland) and with a special prize at the VAD-festival in Girona!

2007 was an amazing year for incite/,
24 concerts all over the place, including the gig 100 in Breda, NL, a kicking US-tour in the summer and some really fantastic festivals all over Europe.
Twice this year, incite/ was awarded a prize on a festival competition: WRO 07 - 12th International Media Art Biennaly in Wroclaw, PL, voted us a prize for the best performance and also the VAD Festival-Jury in Girona, ES, awarded us a special prize.
Both, our website and the MySpace-site feature videos of the gigs of this year.
2008 started with a fantastic time in Maribor, playing gigs in Pecs (HU), Graz (AT). Ljubljana and on the Pekarnanana Festival at Pekarna, Maribor, set up by our friends of La Vitrine.
Looking further into the year, some great festivals are scheduled: EMAF, Osnabrück in April, Avantgarde Festival, Schiphorst, in July and others still to be confirmed.
incite/ always has the main focus on live gigs, still we..re more than happy to be able to announce some contributions to compilations released by various organisations:
1. Elffriede has a book/CD compilation on Soundrawings out on Transacoustic Reseach (Vienna) - which includes an awesome booklet of her drawings.
2. Leipzig based musician Xabec is due to have a remix-compilation CD released on Hands this winter featuring incite/ (burning).
