They claim to respect their elders, yet they have sent 50 elders away from the tribe. They forced them to live without the health care they depend on and deserve as blood members of the tribe. They have taken away educational opportunities for the children of over 230 adult members. And they have turned away from their tribal history. What's left is a weaker tribe, a tribelet, if you will, with many who are afraid to stand up for decency, honor and truth and those who think a golden goose will last forever, no matter how badly they treat it. Paulina Hunter was alive during the Temecula Massacre of 1846. The current Pechanga Tribal Council has destroyed more Indians than were destroyed in 1846 . Pablo Apis took those who were killed and respectfully interred them on his land where Pechanga Casino now sits. Yet, now, the Tribal Council claims he is not Pechanga.
The Pechanga Tribal Council has NO credibility, as they proclaim they are working for the good of the tribe, when, if fact, they have decimated the membership. They allow adopted people to stay, but not descendants of Original Pechanga Temecula Persons.===================================
