About Me

(Some or all videos from TheOpenMic.net )

Tin Cat formed when four singer-songwriters from the San Jose area decided we were tired of singing alone and wanted to be in a band. Now a trio with occasional drums, we play all kinds of acoustic-based music, from alt-country to indie rock, with occasional visits to reggae, blues, and whatever else catches our eye.

In addition to our original material, we bring new sounds to cover songs--a funky sprint through Link Wray's "Fire and Brimstone", or a sweet mandolin-driven take on Talking Heads' "This Must Be the Place". All of it is bound together by vocal harmonies, attention to the groove, and a sense of play--we're here to have fun, and we want you to have fun too.
