About Me

REVIEWS:
"I love that Phil Maves of The Actors is a solo act that named himself a plural noun. But the sound of this guy is anything but solo...Frontier is an upbeat and catchy tune." - The Deli Magazine SF, January 2008
BUY SONGS ONLINE:

Based in San Francisco, Phil Maves of The Actors is a truly independent artist, working as a one-man-band: songwriter, musician, singer and producer. Phil commands a wide range of musical genres; the songs are melodic, well-blended mixtures of pop, art funk, new wave, disco, dub, punk, electro, and 50's rock.
Live performances are a unique proposition as The Actors; Phil handles live vocals & guitar, mixing them with his pre-recorded drums, bass & keyboards – all while operating as a dynamic, engaging frontman.
The Actors issued the debut, self-released single, "Frontier" b/w "Red Museum," in November 2007. The single was recorded with acclaimed engineer/producer/remixer Mark Pistel (Latin Soul Syndicate, Grace Jones, Bob Marley, Missing Persons), and mastered by Kenneth Lee (2Pac, Spearhead).
