About Me

We are opening up for Freezepop at the Annex THIS FRIDAY!!!
On at 7:15PM and we mean it. So skip work, catch the bus, spelunk, run, cab it, subway and swing from the skyscrapers to make it down to catch us tear it up in support of one of favorite electro cohorts.
Just announced. A last minute gig to bid our dearest friend Andy D a fond and electric farewell. But don't be sad if you can't come! We are playing with Freezepop and Velvet Code Friday at the ANNEX! It's like a Macaque buffet - your choice! Andy D will be putting in a special guest spot at the Annex too! It's magic!
We have a special new song, a duet no less, with the fabulous Andy D with all that gusto. This is your chance to hear it! For reals.
At only $5 this is a serious bargin.
Live at the Annex November 14th 2007

Music Video for Mainland directed and animated by the very talented Art Jones

Working out a of small studio in Chinatown, New York based electro-pop duo Macaque craft dense and sweet songs making more sound than you would imagine.

Formed in the summer of 2005, they've been creating lush beats and shimmery melodies tied neatly together with driven bass lines ever since. Macaque is comprised of the talented vocalist Evers, whose previous projects include the Chicago based band Basic Shapes and Chris Hart, DJ/programmer, who previously played Soundlab with Dizzee Rascal and the Sound Cultures Festival at Cornell University. Macaque has played at highly regarded New York City venues such as Cakeshop and sold out performances at MonkeyTown as well as underground dance parties and events. With humorously insightful and intimate writing, enticingly danceable beats and undeniable charm, Macaque is moving closet romantics to the dance floor!/p
Macaque likes: poppy beats, high functioning bass lines, baroque music, the misuse of the English language on Japanese and Chinese beauty products, textured noises, self-deprecating humor. Macaques dislikes are: 24 hour attention getters, hammers and tongs, impending doom, blatant trickery, humorless vulgarity, mauling, bad pedestrians.

Macaque reacts with lightning bugs, Macaque gets mauled by bears.
