Deep 6 Holiday

More exciting than a room full of vestal virgins

About Me

Deep 6 Holiday is a cutting-edge rock band that draws from its members’ unique backgrounds in everything from jazz and classical to punk and bossa nova. Comprised of singer-songwriter-pianist Tyler Azelton, guitarist Ian Hattwick, bassist John Graves, and drummer T.J. Troy, Deep 6 Holiday has been playing together and actively recording their debut album for the past year. The band strives to harness their own sound by synthesizing their diverse musical influences into a progressive musical vision.
Hailed by The New York Times as a “particularly agile” vocalist, Tyler Azelton is the songwriter, pianist, and lead singer for Deep 6 Holiday. While living in New York, Tyler played at CB’s Gallery, The Triad, The Bubble Lounge, Kanvas, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the United Nations, and the Festival of Lights in Bulgaria to name a few. Since her move to Los Angeles, Tyler has been cultivating a loyal fan base at such venues as Genghis Cohen, Molly Malones, The Gig, The Joint, Highland Grounds, The Good Hurt, Masquer’s Cabaret, Karma Café, Anastasia’s Asylum, The Unurban Cafe and Lunaria.
Ian Hattwick has been performing in Los Angeles clubs for over a decade, and brings a strong appreciation for and mastery of drum n’ bass to his virtuosic guitar playing. He also founded the record label bittersound music .
T.J. Troy, while maintaining a reputation as one of the best contemporary rock drummers in the L.A. area, is also one of the finest American practitioners of the North Indian Tabla.
John Graves has also been performing in L.A. clubs for over a decade, and brings a wonderful classical, jazz, and gospel sensibility to his bass playing.
Deep 6 Holiday excitedly anticipates their upcoming debut album, The Funeral & The Wake, which is due in early 2008.
