About Me

The Doodlemonkie Website (content always being added!)
Take a look at DM's site - and let him know what you think!
About the Doodlemonkie.
He doodles, he paints, he writes, he sculpts little things; he likes conversations with friends and family, playing games (old stylee - boardgames and card games) and watching really good movies.
Please click on the banner below to review more Doodlemonkie art; then, we encourage you to come back here and leave him a comment, all are welcome. Although secretive, he actually thrives on attention and can never have enough. However, please be aware - we may have to delete comments that get sweary or have an abundance of glitter and spangly bits... we have observed that these can put the 'monkie into a pensive mood, usually follwed by severe truculence and much throwing of cage contents; possibly, even biting. Thank you!
A selection of mumbles heard coming out of the doodlemonkie cage this week:
- Allergy Warning: May contain cheese, or traces of cheese - Oops! Someone stole the jukebox.

I'd like to meet:

You.
Especially if you are creative, funny, into movies, arts, culture, design, music.
Even moreso if you like what you see here.
People who want to express their creativity - even if it's an itch that hasn't been scratched yet.

Music:

Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, Donald Fagen, Steely Dan, Supergrass, Squeeze, The Flaming Lips, Goldfrapp, Paul Weller, The Strokes, the Beatles, Elliott Smith, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Prince, Daft Punk
Not enough people know about my friend Helicopter Girl! So in tribute to her, and my lovely friend GreenLeaf, I present her wonderful video to 'Angel City':

Movies:

Directors: Billy Wilder, John Carpenter, Edgar Wright, Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, Shane Meadows, David Lynch, George Romero, Martin Scorsese, Guillermo del Toro
Movies: Grindhouse, Pan's Labyrinth, Children of Men, Summer of Sam, The Big Lebowski, The Manchurian Candidate, Midnight Cowboy, Taxi Driver, Jaws, Saving Private Ryan, Star Wars: A New Hope, Serenity, Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Wicker Man (Hammer), The Thing, Robocop, Being John Malkovitch, LA Confidential, The Devil's Backbone, Alien, Aliens, Memento, Batman Begins, Casino Royale

And most of these are viewed when doodlemonkie feels like it, thanks to the wonder that is the DVD box set. Oh and honourable mention to Captain Scarlet (the old one) - that show fuelled my imagination as a child, especially the paintings on the end credits! It was at turns violent, scary, explosive, exciting and did I say violent? They don't make em like that anymore. Thank you Destiny Angel for pointing out my terrible omission!

Books:

James M Cain, Harper Lee, Dostoevsky; Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit; The Book of Beasts (TH White), The Book of Imaginary Beings (Jorge Luis Borges); His Dark Materials trilogy (Philip Pullman); Early Stephen King, especially The Shining.
