About Me
Nomi Zysblat is currently the Marketing and sales coordinator in the territories of Israel and Turkey for Putumayo World Music, the coolest world music label there is.Born in Jerusalem, Israel to Canadian-born parents, Nomi is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, and holds a Magna Cum Laude degree in Professional Music studies as a vocalist. She majored in Music Business Management and Songwriting, and studied on a merit-based scholarship to continue her musical education she started at the Rimon College of Music in Tel-Aviv, Israel. She also studied in the program for multi-disciplinary studies of the arts at Tel-Aviv University.As a performer, Nomi has been involved in major productions and workshops including gospel, jazz, and contemporary music concerts all over Israel, also collaborating with internationally known percussionist Airto Morera. She also sang and dubbed for an independent animation musical, which won first prize for best short film at the Haifa film festival. In Boston she continued to perform in different setting from Berklee staged events and recitals and outside gigs to black tie diplomatic evenings. She also joined a band called "A Call From Home", singing Israeli rock all over the United States. Nomi also recorded an EP of original songs.In the management field, Nomi has worked in public relations for the student union of the Tel-Aviv University, received a diploma in opening and running a small business from the MATI-Centre for Entrepreneurship in Jerusalem, created and ran a small independent successful catering business, and worked in the Tel-Aviv office of The Portugaly Gospel Choir on concert promotion and album sales to overseas markets.In the spring of 2005, Nomi worked as the Marketing and Promotion Director for the MOSES musical, a gospel hip-hop project which took place in New-York city, and ran over 15 shows.Nomi has traveled extensively in Southeast Asia for over a year, (where she did editing work and coordinated photo shoots at the Jakarta City Life Magazine - Jakarta, Indonesia) as well as many European countries and parts of Africa and the Middle East.She has also gained experience from her army service, where she served as an education commander, providing logistics, tour-guiding and educational programming for units of soldiers throughout the country, as well as working in public relations, and coordinating social and cultural events.
