About Me

Born in an art-filled home in Givataim, Israel, Lidor bgan playing the piano at age five. He later switched to the drums before finally settling on the guitar. He began serious private tutoring at age 13 with acclaimed musician Gadi Ben-Haim, a graduate of the Berklee College of Music. The connection between the two continued for five years, during which time Lidor was introduced to rock and fusion music and was greatly influenced by bands such as Pink Floyd and Steely Dan. He also studied with teachers Michal Eisen and Kobi Hess; each left a deep impression, practically and academically, for years to come.During his military service - as a performer, arranger and producer in army bands - Lidor co-wrote and produced a song called 'The One and Only', which earned extensive radio play and climbed to the top of the Israeli pop charts. During this period Lidor was influenced by Spanish, Flamenco, and Middle-eastern music styles. He also worked as a studio musician and participated in numerous recording projects. These included the debut album of singer Tamar Giladi, produced by acclaimed artist Arkadi Duchin, including the hit song 'Ahava Meta' (Love Has Died). He also played for other renowned Israeli artists like Ron Shoval, Ricki Gal, Hanan Yovel and Dana Berger.Upon completion of his military service, Lidor pursued academic studies at Tel Aviv's Rimon School of Jazz & Contemporary Music, where he studied under Ilan Mochiach, Yosi Levi, Ilan Salem and Eitan Itzkovitch. During this time he worked with musician friends Ohad Hitman, Keren Peles, Miri Mesika, Galia Yaron and Betty, performing in and producing live shows and album recordings.In the winter of 2003 Lidor moved to Boston to continue his studies at the Berklee College of Music, on a merit-based scholarship. He was involved in countless events, projects and productions at Berklee, including co-founding a successful Israeli rock band 'A Call From Home' with his friend Yaniv Mintzer. The band played across the United States. He later played a major part in the musical production of Mintzer’s debut album, and co-produced with musician Ilan Pustopetski an album for musician and singer/songwriter Nomi Zysblat.Since his return to Israel, Lidor is playing with major artists, among them Baldi Olier and Harel Skaat.As of January, Lidor will be performing with Israel's leading female singer Rita, supporting her new album "Remazim".
